tournament using Swiss pairing & 156 deck, with only last round repairing if
necessary. 2 hour rounds, allowing 1 hour per game. Only a 5 minute time
allowance for over time rounds with a 1 minute per move for 5 move, then Referee
will judge any unfinished games as a draw or win to stay on schedule. | Bye
awarded to lowest point player. Big
Delicious Buffet Dinner (BBQ was from Bar-B-Q Center on N. Main St. Lexington) in Fellowship Hall at 6PM
Friday! We thank Larry & Judy for the preparation and serving
of our tournament dinners and refreshments and food throughout the tournament. Players were welcomed to Days Inn & Suites in Lexington by a nice office desktop display announcing
"The 66th ACF District 4 Open Checker Tournament" T separates player's opponent from player's accumulated
game points. (win=2, draw=1, loss=0, bye=3) GM stands for Grand Master,
CM stands for Candidate Master, Dave Beachy from Sarasota, FL drove 700 miles. Michael
and Alex Holmes traveled 510 miles from Louisville, KY. The four Amish players
and Durlaw Miller drove in from Ohio over 475 miles one way to get here. | Raleigh Johnson, age 88 and Alex Holmes, age 13 were recognized as the
oldest and youngest players. Ray Shelly from Cambridge, MD
called saying he and
Terry McGrath, New Market, MD wanted
to be here and wished us a good tourney. Many players enjoyed meals and fellowship at Randy's,
Lexington Barbeque, Speedy's BBQ, Ocean View Seafood, Country Cookin, and Portabello's. This was a fun tournament, weather was two cool Indian summer
days. Delicious Dinner & Lunch; a delightful tournament & fellowship for all
who attended!
